How It Works
How to find and lend trailers on Lend A Trailer — for renters and for owners. No commission, no booking fees, no service fees.
Lend A Trailer connects trailer owners with the people who need a trailer. We advertise; you deal with each other directly.
If you need a trailer
1. Search. Pick your dates, your region and the type of trailer you need. You do not need an account to browse.
2. Compare. Every ad shows the trailer's specifications, the owner's rates for each day of the week, and a calendar of when it is actually available.
3. Get in touch. Create a free account and send the owner an inquiry. We pass on your name, contact details and the dates you want. The owner's email address is never shown — they will come back to you.
4. Negotiate directly. Price, deposit, collection, insurance and condition are all between you and the owner. We do not take a cut and we do not handle the money. Check the owner's terms, directly in their ad.
If you have a trailer to lend
1. Choose a plan. Standard covers one trailer, Professional covers up to ten. Both are a flat annual fee with no commission. Both plans give you a static URL to share via social media. Professional plan's link is for the entire group.
2. Build your ad. Add photos, specifications and a description. Set a rate for each day of the week once, then adjust individual dates if you want to.
3. Set your availability. Mark the periods your trailer is free. Renters see this on your ad, so you are not fielding inquiries for dates you cannot do.
4. Go live. We review every ad before it publishes, usually within minutes and always inside 24 hours. Once it is live you get a permanent link of your own to share. Some changes to the ads will require an additional review. Changes to images, titles, terms and descriptions will be reviewed.
5. Handle inquiries your way. Inquiries arrive by email with the renter's details. You choose who to reply to and what to agree.
What we do not do
We do not process payments, hold deposits, verify trailers or insure anything. We are an advertising platform. Both parties are responsible for their own due diligence, and owners are responsible for confirming a renter has adequate insurance before handing over a trailer.
