Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about lending and finding trailers on Lend A Trailer.
For renters
Do I need an account to look at trailers? No. Browsing and searching are completely open. You only need a free account to contact an owner, which is how we make sure everyone using the platform has agreed to the same terms.
Do you charge me a booking fee? No. There are never booking fees, service fees or convenience fees at Lend A Trailer. You pay the owner directly; at whatever rate you agree with them.
How do I contact the owner? Use the inquiry form on the ad. We send the owner your name, contact details, the dates you want and your message. They get back to you directly.
Why can I not see the owner's email address? Owners choose who to share their details with. Send an inquiry and they will come to you.
For owners
What does it cost? Standard is $179 a year for one trailer. Professional is $399 a year for up to ten. That is the whole cost — no commission, no per booking fee.
Do you take a percentage of what I charge? No. Whatever you agree with the renter is yours.
What is the permanent web address? Every trailer gets a link of its own, like lendatrailer.com/4225, which never changes while you are subscribed. Share it on social media, put it on a business card, anywhere you like. Advertise more than one trailer and you also get a group link showing them all.
Can I start with one trailer and add more later? Yes. Upgrade to Professional whenever you want, using the same account.
What happens if I let my subscription lapse? Your ads are paused for a limited time, not deleted, and your web addresses are held for you. Renew and everything comes back as it was.
Does someone check my ad before it goes live? Yes. Every ad is reviewed, usually within minutes and always inside 24 hours. You will get an email when it is approved.
Are RVs and Campers allowed on this site? No. Only the types of trailers as shown on the Lend A Trailer website are allowed. Ads featuring RVs or Campers will be removed.
Safety and responsibility
Do you verify trailers or renters? We are an advertising platform. We do not inspect trailers or vet users, and both parties are responsible for their own due diligence.
Who is responsible for insurance? The owner is responsible for confirming that a renter has adequate insurance before handing over a trailer. Lend A Trailer does not provide insurance.
Do you handle payments or deposits? No. We never process, collect or hold money for a rental. That is entirely between you and the other party.
